Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim a senior member of the ruling party who took part in a special discussion in the National Assembly on the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence said “Bangabandhu means Bangladesh Bangabandhu means the independence of Bangladesh.” Without him the independence of Bengal would not have come.
He said that if this great leader had not been born, Bengalis would still have been enslaved by the West. He is the one who united the nation and gave the gift of independent sovereign Bangladesh through bloody liberation war.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Leader of the House in Parliament today raised the proposal to discuss the golden jubilee of independence under General Rule 147. He took part in the discussion on his proposal. Earlier in the day President Md. Abdul Hamid addressed the Parliament on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Independence.
During the discussion, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim said that by killing this undisputed leader and his family in 1975 some cowards had tarnished Bangladesh and the Bengali nation in the eyes of the world. But if Bangabandhu had survived, Bangladesh would have become a developed and prosperous country of the world long ago. The assassins didn’t let that happen.
In the discussion, he highlighted the life of Bangabandhu’s son Bella, student life and movement struggle. He said that Bangabandhu did not rest on the laurels of the nation only with the gift of independence, this great statesman started the work of developing the war-torn country step by step into a prosperous and prosperous country free from hunger and poverty. He was also taking the country forward. But the killers did not let that happen. But Bangabandhu will live forever in the heart of Bengalis.Today the country is being run on the basis of his ideals. And the country is now going to become the golden Bengal of Bangabandhu’s dream.
